Eliana's Chef Party

Better late then never right?  Well yes her birthday was in Decemeber... lol... I have been meaning to blog about it since then and give credit to the awesome vendors that came together for the event.  And well... I just haven't got it done.  Now Owen has had his birthday and I would like to blog about that as well but first thing is first :)

Eliana has always had fun birthday parties, not because I feel like she needs something over the top and elaborate, or its my duty to provide something fantastic, but simply because I LOVE to do it! I love everything that goes into throwing an event.  Deciding a theme, a decor scheme, the games, food, etc, etc... I love putting together an event that the guests will enjoy and leave feeling really special!  And this party was no different.

For this party I collaborated with one of my favorite party throwing friends Amelia from Amelia Marie Designs, she is just like me in that she enjoys all things that go into creating a party.  We brainstormed a theme and a unique color scheme and then set out to have some others help us! Gayle Driver Photography is amazing to work with and she agreed to join or fun! As well as Tina made our beautiful cookies and cupcakes and A Cherry On Top made our custom aprons and Eliana's chef hat, of course we (Crafted in Grace) made the hair accessories.

Lastly all we needed was to make some decor and invite some friends! Amelia and I spent some time crafting up our decor of paper pinwheels, wood utensil chandelier, chair sashes, and oh so much more.  Brigette Turner Design drew up beautiful invites, recipe cards, and patterned paper for our event.

I am so pleased with how the event came together and how much fun the girls had.  Their is nothing better then little girl giggles and fun!  Enjoy the pictures and please check out our vendors and LIKE their pages :)

thankful...

For those of you that follow this sporadic blogger you know that for 2014 I felt that God laid 2 words on my heart  THANKFUL and DISCIPLINE. as true "God nature" things are never exactly as you suspect they will be.

I thought a year of thankfulness would be thinking about all the things I'm thankful for.  Don't get me wrong I have done a lot of that and it is good for the soul, but what I have found that is even better is expressing thankfulness!  Since January I have went through almost 50 thank you cards. It has been such a blessing to me to express thankfulness.  To tell someone thank you is not just to bless them but to be blessed by them.  You recognize their hard work, or sacrifice, or kindness, or sweetness, etc, etc....  You take your eyes off yourself long enough to see someone, the world around you, the people around you.

This is not how I expected to be spending a year of thankfulness but I am so excited about it!

This week in particular though I find myself extra thankful for my "stuff", for my family, for my circumstances, for what God is doing around me, in me, through me... And after a long hard winter (this girl is not a fan) I am so thankful for spring, new life, sunshine, and the beauty of the outdoors.  I mean God clearly made me for the sun!  I could be one of those weirdos (sorry to offend anyone, lol) who sits out and meditates in the sunshine to get energy.. this is me!  I am thankful for a new opportunity to move to KS and be close to our encouraging loving family, a community of family that will help us raise our children and live life together!  I am just overflowing with thankfulness.

If there was any way to cure a bad mood, or depression, or selfishness, it would be thankfulness! So tell someone thank you today, take the time to write a card, or to tell the Lord thank you for how He has blessed you!

And thank you all for reading this sporadic blog from this crazy mom :)  #weareallalittlecrazyright
