Out of Blog Hibernation!

It has been a while since I blogged, you know how it is - life gets in the way!  I don't feel like we are overly busy with continuous commitments, but it does seem we find ourselves with lots of projects we are working on! In the last few months the projects have just taken priority over blogging!

In the last couple months we have been working our way through homeschooling. Some weeks are better than others and let me just say - "homeschooling is hard"! Its easy to get distracted by other things and not stay on a regular schedule, to let other things creep in as top priority over daily lessons. I am learning I really need to guard my school time and make sure its a daily commitment. But besides it being hard it is also really fun. I can see the kids learning and we get to move at their pace and teach them things they are excited about. Also teach them things we value as a family - Christ centered values, character qualities, missional living, etc... I am enjoying our "Christmas break" but also looking forward to getting back in gear with school in the new year!

Besides school we have been busy with ... well... life! Church family, friends, planning this and going there and really trying to enjoy life each day. I am so thankful each day for being able to stay home with my kids, be present in their life, and live present in the moment.

A big reason I wanted to come out of blog hibernation was to share our adoption journey progress. While this journey is a long one (a lesson in patience) it is also a great journey of seeing God. We find little bits of God encouragement everywhere in this journey. We have finished 90% of our paperwork and are meeting with a social worker very soon to finalize our home study  We are so excited for the day when we can say "we have our referral . In the mean time we are fundraising, praying, and planning nursery decorations ;)  A fundraiser we have going on right now is an online auction! A perfect way to do some Christmas shopping :) A lot of great goodies donated by generous people, some great friends, and some strangers (new friends)!

You can check out the auction here - Adoption Auction
Auction ends next Sunday the 9th at 9pm Eastern Time!

Blessings and Prayers to All
